Swami Nandlal ji (Bab) was born in a well of family at Gurgari Mohalla, Xaina Kadam Srinagar, whose forefathers  are said to be  the bankers to the then king Maharaj Pratap Singh. His father Pandit Sahaj Kaul who was an ardent devotee of Goddess Sharika, would visit Hari Parbat daily to have a Parikrama. This made Swami ji inclined to the Godly world. 

After leaving his home at his teen age for  Sadhna Swami ji did not look back and returned after almost twenty years after gaining a lot in his young age after he was initiated by his Guru at Varanasi.

A long list of miracles are described by his followers which made Swami ji very popular among the masses.
